This performance questions some of the reasons of why we clean.

Is it worthwhile cleaning? Societal constructs encourage us to clean our homes and keep our wider environment tidy. Most people would consider it acceptable to put rubbish into a bin or to sort it for recycling. Many would consider it normal to clean a home; but where does the boundary between cleaning and tidying stop? Is it acceptable to clean the outdoors? Why would it be necessary to clean an outside area, and on a continuum where does it become unnecessary or unacceptable to clean the inside? How much cleaning becomes unhealthy? When does tidy or clean become OCD and how does our cleaning affect the environment?

Through employing domestic cleaning practices to outdoor areas Wood is asking us to rethink our own cleaning practices and prejudices.
